Tozal Socks

Workers at Tozal Socks in Güngören found the wage increase for 2022 insufficient and started a wildcat strike on 5 February 2022. The strike ended on the same day when the boss agreed to raise wages to 9,500-TL (6 days 6 nights; 72 hours per week).
The Tozal Socks strike was part of a wave of strikes in sock factories in Beylikdüzü, Arnavutköy, Bayrampaşa, Güngören, İkitelli, Avcılar and Esenyurt districts of Istanbul. In these strikes, the Deriteks trade union has contributed at the level of guidance and solidarity.
