In Şireci Textile in Antep, workers started a wildcat strike on 5 February 2022 against the factory management's offer of 5000 TL monthly wage and 300 TL attendance bonus for 2022, demanding 5700 TL monthly wage plus bonus. While the 7-3 shift left the factory and waited outside, the 3-11 shift did not enter. While waiting, the workers ended the strike after the factory management agreed to increase wages to 5300 TL. The Şireci Textile strike was part of a wave of strikes in Antep in 2022, mainly in the ‘Weaving, garment and leather’ sector.
