Reis Carpet

At Reis Carpet in Antep Başpınar Organised Industrial Zone, wire workers who did not accept the boss's offer of 5250 TL base wage started a wildcat strike on 28 February 2022 demanding 5800 TL. After the strike lasted for about two hours, the workers, who said that they could not get support from other shifts, ended the strike without any gains. The Reis Carpet strike was part of a wave of strikes that took place in Antep in 2022, mainly in the ‘Weaving, garment and leather’ sector.
