Public Health Institutions (July 7-8, 2022)

Following the death of Ekrem Karakaya, a doctor on duty in Konya, due to an armed attack, health laborers working in public health institutions held a two-day wildcat strike against violence in health sector on 7-8 July 2022 with the call of various trade unions and professional organizations.

As far as we were able to determine from press and social media channels, the strike took place in public health institutions in at least 41 cities including Adana, Adıyaman, Ağrı, Ankara, Antalya, Antep, Aydın, Balıkesir, Bartın, Batman, Bitlis, Bolu, Bursa, Çanakkale, Çorum, Diyarbakır, Denizli, Düzce, Edirne, Eskişehir, Hakkari, Hatay, İstanbul, İzmir, Karabük, Kayseri, Kırıkkale, Kocaeli, Manisa, Manisa, Maraş, Mardin, Mersin, Osmaniye, Samsun, Siirt, Sivas, Şırnak, Trabzon, Urfa, Uşak and Van.
