Özkaplan Carpet

Workers at the Özkaplan Carpet factory in Antep held a wildcat strike on 18 February 2022 against the 50% raise proposed by the boss. After a five-hour strike, later in the night, the boss accepted the workers' demands and gave them an additional 300 TL raise. Thus, the wages of the halves increased to 7350 TL and the wages of the wiremen to 5650 TL. After their demands were accepted, the workers ended the strike and went back to work. The Özkaplan Carpet strike was part of the strike wave that took place in Antep in 2022, mainly in the ‘Weaving, garment and leather’ sector.
