Kevser Carpet

In Kevser Carpet in Antep, when the boss raised the fixed wage and piecework wage by 57%, the workers working in three shifts of the weaving department and the garment department of the factory rejected the raise and started a wildcat strike on 9 March 2022. Production in the factory stopped for two hours and at the end of the two hours, the strike was ended after the boss agreed to increase the rate of increase in fixed wages to 80% and 60% per piece. The Kevser Carpet strike was part of a wave of strikes in Antep in 2022, mainly in the ‘Weaving, garment and leather’ sector.
