Health Workers' Strike (March 2022)

With the call of the Turkish Medical Association (TTB), health workers carried out a 2-day wildcat strike across Turkey on 14 March 2022, the Medical Day and 15 March 2022, demanding the solution of the problems in the field of health and the improvement of their personal, economic and social rights. Health workers gathered in front of the hospitals where only emergency departments work and expressed their demands through press statements. Turkish Dental Association, Health and Social Service Labourers Union, Dev Sağlık-İş, All Radiology Technicians and Technicians Association, Union and Solidarity Union and Genel Sağlık-İş also joined the strike.
Health workers in at least 30 cities including Adana, Adıyaman, Ankara, Antalya, Aydın, Balıkesir, Batman, Bitlis, Bolu, Burdur, Bursa, Çanakkale, Diyarbakır, Edirne, Eskişehir, Hatay, İstanbul, İzmir, Kars, Kırklareli, Mardin, Mersin, Muğla, Osmaniye, Şırnak, Sivas, Sinop, Tekirdağ, Urfa and Van participated in the two-day strike. The strike ended without any concrete gains.
