Karpen Aluminium

At the Karpen Aluminium factory in Antep Başpınar OIZ, workers rejected the raise offered by the boss and started a wildcat strike on 19 February 2022 demanding a monthly wage of at least 5500 TL. After a one-day strike, the workers ended the strike with the acceptance of an additional 300 TL raise and went back to work. The Karpen Aluminium strike was part of the wave of strikes that took place in Antep in 2022, mainly in the ‘Weaving, garment and leather’ sector.
