Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant Construction (Aydıner)

1,200 workers of Aydıner subcontractor company at the Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant construction site in Gülnar district of Mersin have staged a wildcat strike due to underpayment of wages, not being paid overtime and not being paid on time. The workers stated that they had worked 9 hours a day in the construction of the cooling water reservoir but were paid for 8 hours. Among the demands of the workers were full payment of their wages and a raise. The strike ended after the company announced that the wages would be paid on time and that it accepted the 40 per cent raise demanded by the workers.
