Güler Sacks

At Güler Sacks in Antep, after the boss offered workers a monthly wage of 5200 TL for operating 10 machines and 4600 TL for 6 machines, workers started a wildcat strike in 3 shifts on 4 February 2022 demanding 5200 TL for 6 machines. As of 5 February, the weaving department workers continued the strike. After two days of strike, workers' wages were increased by 150 TL to 5400 TL. On 7 February, taking advantage of the division among the workers, the boss terminated the employment contracts of 10 workers. The Güler Sacks strike was part of a wave of strikes that took place in Antep in 2022, mainly in the "Weaving, garment and leather" sector.
