Erdal Socks

Workers at Erdal Çorap in Arnavutköy district of Istanbul started a wildcat strike at night on 2 February 2022 due to insufficient wage increases. The workers demanded an increase in wages to at least 7,000 TL. There is no information in the press and social media about how the strike ended.
The Erdal Socks strike was part of a wave of strikes in sock factories in the Beylikdüzü, Arnavutköy, Bayrampaşa, Güngören, İkitelli, Avcılar and Esenyurt districts of Istanbul. In these strikes, the Deriteks trade union contributed in a guiding and solidarity role.
