At Elyaf İplik in Antep, workers rejected the boss's increased wage offer of 4,970 TL wage + 350 TL continuation premium for the twisting department, 5,250 TL wage + 350 TL continuation premium for the superba department, 5.350 TL wage + 350 TL continuation premium for the polyp section and started a de facto strike on 9 February 2022 demanding 5,750 TL wage + 350 TL continuation premium for the bending section, 5,900 TL wage + 350 TL continuation premium for the superba section, 6,000 TL wage + 350 TL continuation premium for the polyp section. After three days of strike, the attendance bonus, which the workers demanded to be abolished, was abolished and the workers returned to work with a 400 TL raise. The Elyaf İplik strike was part of a wave of strikes in Antep in 2022, mainly in the ‘Weaving, garment and leather’ sector.
