Tarsus Vegetable Market

On 6 January 2022, 200 women workers went on a wildcat strike against low wages and working conditions at the Vegetable and Fruit Market in Tarsus, Mersin. The strike resulted in partial gains. While their wage demands were accepted on the second day of the strike, there was no improvement in working conditions. As a result of the resistance of the women, who were wanted to work with a daily wage of 150 TL, their daily wage was set at 170 TL.
