Philsa Tobacco Factory

After the dismissal of 4 and then 13 of their colleagues who were members of the Gıda-İş union at the Philsa (Philip Morris) Tobacco Factory in Torbalı district of Izmir, workers started a wildcat strike in all shifts on September 20, 2022, demanding the recognition of their union rights and the reinstatement of the dismissed workers. The strike ended without any gains after the employer's new dismissal attack on September 22.
