NBG Socks

Workers at NBG Socks in Esenyurt district of Istanbul started a wildcat strike on 3 February 2022 due to insufficient wage increases. The strike ended in the evening of the same day when the boss agreed to raise wages to between 6,600 TL and 7,000 TL net.
The NBG Socks strike was part of a wave of strikes in sock factories in the Beylikdüzü, Arnavutköy, Bayrampaşa, Güngören, İkitelli, Avcılar and Esenyurt districts of Istanbul. In these strikes, the Deriteks trade union contributed in a guiding and solidarity role.
