Lezita

After two more workers were dismissed from the Abalıoğlu Lezita factory in Kemalpaşa district of Izmir, who had expressed their reaction to the dismissals on various grounds and unlawful overtime practices due to their membership in the Öz Gıda-İş union, the workers stopped production and staged a wildcat strike on May 18, 2022. The demands of the workers include the reinstatement of all dismissed workers, not dismissing anyone from today, including those who protested, immediately withdrawing the objection to the union's authorization determination and sitting at the table with the union.

After the strike, 16 more workers were laid off. While the strike ended without any gains, the dismissed workers started resistance in front of the factory.
