After the CBA negotiations between Izmir Konak Municipality workers' union Genel-İş and the municipality administration broke down due to the municipality's offer of a 16 per cent raise, workers staged a 2-hour wildcat strike on 16 April 2025 against wage delays and the imposition of a low raise. Workers staged another half-day wildcat strike on April 22, 2025.
