Workers at the Has Çuval factory in Antep did not accept the raise and started a wildcat strike on 3 February 2022. After the strike, which lasted for about 2 hours, the workers went back to work. On 9 February, they went on wildcat strike again and three representatives who went to meet with the boss were fired. When the unity of the workers disintegrated, work resumed on the same day without any change in wages. The Has Çuval strike was part of a wave of strikes in Antep in 2022, mainly in the ‘Weaving, garment and leather’ sector.
