Bade Carpet

On 11 February 2022, Bade Carpet workers in Baspinar 4th OIZ in Antep started a wildcat strike due to the insufficient increase in wages. Rejecting the wage offer of 5700 TL for stringers and 6900 TL for halves, the workers demanded at least 6500 TL for stringers and at least 7,500 TL for halves. The workers also rejected the management's piecework wage offer and stated that they would continue their action until their demands were met. However, in the meeting held on 14 February, the company management offered the same wage to the workers. The workers stated that the only change in the boss's last offer was the introduction of a wage per scarf. The workers accepted the offer and ended the strike on 14 February. The Bade Carpet strike was part of the wave of strikes that took place in Antep in 2022, mainly in the ‘Weaving, garment and leather’ sector.
