Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant Construction Site (February 2023)

At the Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant construction site in Mersin, workers demanding a pay raise had their employment contracts terminated on the grounds of a three-day absence, allegedly to volunteer in the earthquake zone. Following this, other workers staged a wildcat strike on February 22, 2023, demanding the reinstatement of their dismissed colleagues and a pay raise. The strike ended on the same day without any gains.
