In Vivo's mobile phone manufacturing plant located in the Gebze district of Kocaeli, workers started a wildcat strike on December 2, 2022, after two people were fired for being union members. Following the wildcat strike, 17 more workers were fired on December 5. In response, 20 workers did not work that day and continued the wildcat strike. After these 20 workers were also dismissed on December 6, the strike ended. Following the end of the strike, the workers continued their struggle by protesting at the factory gates. After negotiations between the Türk Metal-İş union and Vivo management, an agreement was reached on December 13 to reinstate all dismissed workers and withdraw the objection to the authorization determination document.
