Public Workers (July 2025)

On July 17, 2025, a wildcat strike was carried out by workers in various lines of work in many cities across Turkey due to the failure to reach an agreement between the government and the unions in the negotiations on the Framework Protocol for the 2025 Public Collective Bargaining Agreements.

As far as we were able to determine from press and social media channels, the strike took place in at least 13 cities, including Antep, Çorum, Denizli, Hatay, Istanbul, Izmir, Kayseri, Kırıkkale, Kocaeli, Konya, Kütahya, Sakarya and Samsun, and in at least 6 business sectors, including "Hunting, Fishing, Agriculture and Forestry", "Construction", "Energy Industry", "Transportation", "Health and Social Services" and "Trade, Office, Education and Fine Arts".
