Public Health Institutions (June 30, 2022)

With the call of Turkish Medical Association (TTB), Health and Social Service Workers' Union (SES), Hekimsen, Turkish Dental Association (TDB), Turkish Society of Anesthesiology and Reanimation (TARD), Turkish Society of Cardiology (TKD), Turkish Neurology Association (TND), Turkish Surgery Association (TCD), Turkish Eye Association (TGSD),Turkish Pediatric Society (TPK) and the Turkish Radiology Association (TRD) a wildcat strike was held between June 30 and July 1, 2022, demanding effective measures against violence in health, the withdrawal of the Family Medicine Contract and Payment Regulation, which is called the “punishment regulation”, and the improvement of the personal rights of physicians. Physicians working in public hospitals participated in the strike across the country.

As far as we were able to determine from press and social media channels, the strike took place in public health institutions in at least 25 cities including Amasya, Adana, Ankara, Antalya, Antep, Aydın, Balıkesir, Bolu, Bursa, Denizli, Diyarbakır, Eskişehir, İstanbul, İzmir, Kayseri, Kocaeli, Konya, Mersin, Manisa, Malatya, Sakarya, Samsun, Tekirdağ, Trabzon and Van.
