Workers staged a one-day wildcat strike on May 2, 2025 due to the failure to reach an agreement in the ongoing collective bargaining negotiations between the Social Democrat Public Employers' Union (SODEM-SEN) and Genel İş, which were conducting the negotiations on behalf of Merbel A.Ş. of Konak Municipality.
