Following the verbal and physical assault of resident physician Dr. Maryam Arslan on Friday night, anesthesia and surgery assistants working at the hospital went on a wildcat strike on Monday, June 6, 2022, with the call of the Health Workers' Union (SES) and the Istanbul Medical Chamber, demanding measures to be taken against violence in health care. Due to the strike, all planned surgeries at the hospital were suspended except for emergency cases.
