Bayrampasa Vegetable and Fruit Market

Approximately 6000 workers at the Bayrampaşa Fresh Vegetables and Fruits Market in Istanbul started a wildcat strike on August 3, 2022, demanding the payment of insurance premiums, an increase in the piece rate from 1 and a half TL to 2 and a half TL, and the regulation of the opening and closing hours of the market. As a result of the negotiations, the strike ended on August 4 after an agreement was reached to increase the piecework wages to 2 TL and 2 and a half TL after the New Year, to pay insurance premiums, and to adjust the opening and closing hours of the hal as of October 1.
